Audi will compete with the BMW X6

Speaking to "Auto News Europe" in the margins of the Bologna Motor Show, the head of Audi design, Walter de Silva, confirmed that there is a plan to develop a rival to the BMW X6. "We will definitely launch a sporty crossover between the Q5 and Q7 (pictured)," said de Silva. Indeed, as the CEO of Audi, Rupert Stadler, had left open earlier this year marks the possibility of potentially come up with a model known as Q6.

It is believed that this will be loosely based on Q6 Q5 sporting a flat roof design details and more aggressive. The engine range will walk between four and six cylinder diesel or gasoline, all equipped with turbo.

De Silva added that Audi considers a smaller crossover, which will probably be called Q4, which will be positioned between the Q3 and Q5, to compete with the BMW X4. This information was confirmed by BMW CEO Norbert Reithofer, who said that the X4 can hit the market in 2014.
